Community Hub | Dogpacth, San Francisco | Fall 2024
Dogpatch Woven Hub reimagines circulation as the building's central structure. A network of curving concrete staircases wraps the façade and flows through the interior, connecting programs and people in motion.
The project transforms movement into architecture. The staircases are both structure and social space—places where reading areas, studios, and gathering zones intersect. A café and lobby open the building to the street, while upper floors house a library, media rooms, and collaborative workspaces. The journey ends on a rooftop terrace overlooking the Dogpatch neighborhood and the Bay.
Materially, the design balances weight and transparency. Concrete and metal define a woven rhythm, while translucent glass filters light, revealing glimpses of interior movement. Every surface and void is shaped to guide how people experience the space—turning circulation into a shared architectural experience.
Dogpatch Woven Hub reflects an interest in how systems of movement, light, and structure can create community within the city.
